Job Summary:
We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Website Moderator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will not only oversee user interactions and content on our website but will also possess a strong understanding of web development and other foundational aspects of technology. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our online platforms, ensuring a seamless user experience, and contributing to the overall technical excellence of our web properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content Moderation: Monitor and review user-generated content, including posts, comments, and media, to ensure compliance with community guidelines and technical standards.
- Web Development Support: Collaborate with the development team to ensure website functionality, security, and performance are maintained. Identify and report any technical issues that may affect content display or user interaction.
- Community Engagement: Respond to user inquiries, address technical concerns, and foster a positive and supportive online community. Guide users through technical troubleshooting when necessary.
- Enforcement of Guidelines: Identify and address violations of our community guidelines, including inappropriate content, spam, and abusive behavior. Implement necessary actions such as content removal, user warnings, or account suspensions.
- Technical Issue Management: Proactively manage and resolve incidents on the website, such as broken links, content errors, or user disputes, using established protocols and technical tools.
- Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on website activity, including technical issues, trends in user behavior, and incident resolutions. Offer insights and recommendations for improving website functionality and moderation processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Assist in the ongoing development and refinement of community guidelines, moderation procedures, and website policies to adapt to emerging technical challenges and trends.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Website Moderator, Community Manager, or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic understanding of PHP or Python.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, and experience with web hosting platforms.
- Understanding of website security practices, including content protection, user authentication, and data privacy.
- Basic knowledge of database management (e.g., MySQL) and version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IT services and solutions, including software development, cloud services, AI, and platform engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to make impartial decisions, manage conflicts professionally, and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, technical environment.
- Basic understanding of digital marketing, SEO principles, and web analytics tools like Google Analytics is a plus.
